ok, that doesn't sound right...

i was so bored this afternoon - can't write the performance evaluation thingymajigger - i just can't

i saw this chain bag in the 100php rack, and I was like "you serious?" - i was extremely happy that they were

i was supposed to treat myself this month by buying a new pair if shoes (my office shoes are about to commit suicide) and a new bag - estimated value for both, 3k

before i can even hit the stores I found 3 lovely bags and a nice sturdy pair of black flats - all for less than 1k

i must be very lucky - gawd i love thrift stores!!!

must love bags

I've been idle...

very idle...

It is actually another busy month for me - dance practice, LMV ( visit our store at lovemevintage.multiply.com ), pre work for project, feedbacks, performance evaluation etc....rawr!

but as always, im having fun!

just wanna share my latest purchases - love love love bags

Ynnaness, found this and we were supposed to put it in the store - unfortunately there were little scratches on the buckle so i bought it for myself =) I think this bag is really for me...been looking for something like this for ages! And the ultimate proof that this bag is meant for me is the "E" that is embossed on the lock - lavet!

I love this shoulder bag! its small and structured - enough room for my camera, phone, keys and make up - i was so happy that i took this baby last saturday for its first night out =)

Vintage bags - thrifted (i spent 500 bucks for both bags - huwat!)

crime scene

i just had my sunday dose of blood, wounds, gun shots, puzzles, traces, clues and questions - CSI supreme sunday.

i really find this series fascinating. the story telling is really fantastic and the science that backs it up is commendable. maybe my 4 years in a science highschool made me this engrossed to chemical compounds, physics, DNA etc. It's not that i understand them all - I actually don't understand most of them - I'm just fascinated. And in school, we only learned theories (we had several practical applications - but very few). I did love chemistry and maybe got interested in physics way back in highschool - and shows like this make me appreciate that i was given 4 years to work in labs, play with microscopes and read long tongue twisting chemical names.

anyhoo, since i didn't get the chance to pursue my dream in becoming a forensic scientist, i have to settle with what's available now - study fashion - home school

more cut-off shorts

right after my sunday dose of crime scenes, i went directly to my crime lab a.k.a. my room and cut another pair of old jeans.

the jacket i was wearing in this pic is something i thrifted years ago but haven't worn it really. i love the purple flower print and the laces on the cuffs. i just can't find the perfect outfit to pair it with - yet.

i have thrifted this tunic top years ago and i think i wore it once - somewhere. its soft and kinda see-through. im planning to wear this in the beach over a bikini and ofcourse my cut-off shorts - but they will need to wait for summer - weather is really unpredictable over the past couple of days and i don't think i would like to get wet in this - yet.

bachelor splash

this was supposed to be my outfit for the Cosmo Bachelor Bash Party - unfortunately, Carms and I weren't able to make it.

It was raining very hard and I don't think Carms even made it to Manila.

Anyhoo, nothing grand really. I wanted to look sophisticated but laid back - thus, the black polo and black shorts. To break the doom, i would have worn my christmas pumps and dragged a red handbag.

cut-off invasion

so the denim cut-off shorts begins. This is the first of its kind - well, at least from the set of my jeans which i will be cutting in the next couple of days.

at first i deliberated on whether to sew the ends of the shorts or just to let it, flare? anyhoo, i decided not to sew it. for one, the loose fold on the ends is more appealing to me.

and i made 3 looks - or whatever you wanna call it. i just paired my new cut-off shorts with three different tops.

printed shirt with vest:

plaid polo and vintage belt:

white tank top and ginormous bag:

tops: Mango, thifted, tyangge (respectively)
vintage belt
vintage bags (will have a different post on these)
vintage wayfarers
Charles and keith aviators

cut them off

so i've been trying to clean my closet and guess what i found - piles of old jeans!

when skinny jeans took over almost 2-3 years ago, i totally forgot about my old jeans. and since im a jeans person, i have lots of them. so i was deliberating on giving them away or just let them stay in my closet - idle.

after browsing through several fashion blogs, an idea hit me - cut them off!

a lot of fashion bloggers who i really really adore have cut-off shorts in their sites and you can totally pair them with almost anything.

cut-off shorts have been invading the streets of hollywood as well.

again, the rugged i-just-got-out-of-bed-have-nothing-to-wear-look

so there, cut off shorts and oversized shirts - rain or shine im gonna these!

rain and gloomy outfits

because the crazy rain prohibitted me from going out (http://edell.multiply.com/journal/item/168/Marce_the_13th), I tried to entertain myself by taking pictures of my room.

I did a little closet inventory and I noticed that I have a lot of greys, whites, blacks and pinks. When it comes to clothes, i don't experiment with color much- i always go with the neutral, safe, easy to pair with colors. It's kinda sad that I have very limitted choices - I always wear the same color!

So, my for my next assignment, I will look for colorful but not loud outfits - more on tank tops actually, so that I can still layer them with my neutral-colored jackets..bwahahaha!

i actually came up with a list on what to get on my next thrift trip:
  • silver flats (i badly need these)
  • oversized polo (i just want more)
  • grey skinny jeans (grey again)
  • vintage office bag
  • romper
  • black cardigan

or maybe i'm sticking with the neutrals? haha!

and my favorite corner....twilight saga, my frogs, my guitar and my collection of snowglobes from different countries

my room

and i am in the process of writing a real post =)

this is not a real post

i went out with friends today and because the weather has been pretty unpredictable for the past couple of days, i decided to wear something that would cover me up good if it becomes cold, but something that is not much of a sweat-generator as well: oversized shirt and shorts

my friend daene described my outfit as: "like she came from her bf's house and decided to wear his clothes"

gimme gimme gimme more

so i've been idle lately...

actually i've been pretty busy with work, dance rehearsals and LMV - and don't get me wrong, i love doing them all.

im just a little tired and my brain is not working as expected. i've been wearing a lot of no brainers lately - just for the sake of covering up :P

so this might not be a real post - but i would like to share with you what i wore in yesterday's performance. I had a lot of fun dancing even if the stage was a little slippery and i had dozens of bloopers - but it was all good!

and because my feet won't stop stomping, im learning a new dance - thanks to youtube!

Happy to be dancing again ;)

of photoshoots, dance rehearsals and wanton noodles

my weekend was pretty hectic. it was hardcore full packed! until now, i'm having difficulties feeling my limbs - like i left them somewhere.

saturday:

Love Me Vintage's first official phothoshoot. We had some issues with the location due to nagging guards (but then again, they're just doing their job), but we managed. We were able to finish the shoot (a big thank you to our kind photographers and models!!!). I was able to see half of the photos - man! were they good!We might be picking up the photos that we will use for the site this week and maybe officially launch the store via multiply - wacth out!

after the shoot, i went straight home to change and leave my stuffs - next stop: dance rehearsals. I was an hour late and the group has already started dancing, and since i was late, i was not able to warm up. For the love of all things beautiful! Never ever dance without warming up! I was so freakin tired that when i got home after the rehearsal, i had trouble standing up - i literally was incapable of moving my legs! We were supposed to have another rehearsal today, but i was so tired that i had to pass.

sunday:

i slept until 12 noon! i had a big lunch - breakfast food at 2pm. I was so full that i became to lazy to do some basic household chores. every sunday i wash some of my little clothes, clean the house, clean the bathroom, fix my room and cook dinner. so, after hearing mass, i decided to just buy food (we ran out of gas, so that's another excuse). i had wanton noodles and siopao (siopao never tasted that good - or maybe i was just hungry - but it was really good!).

i have another dance rehearsal tomorrow - 9 freakin am! i just hope i can wake up early (current uninvited focal point of my world, please be there).

it has been a very tiring weekend but there is actually nothing to complain about - instead, there are a lot to thank for. i was able to do stuffs that i love doing! fashion, dance and eating wanton noodles.

an unplanned thrift trip

earlier this afternoon, i went out to withdraw cash (as i've said in my previous entry, im hardcore broke). unfortunately, there's a trift store right in front of the bank and there was a huge sign on the door that says "more shoes and bags inside". believe me, i tried not to go inside. i deliberated for a moment and oh well, how much self control can a thrifter like me have?

lots of beautiful leather structured sent from heaven bags were hanging inside the store. unfortunately, they're still a bit expensive, for my standards at least. i found this really vintage brown squarish handbag, which i also saw in several vintage blogs i visited. i wanted it so bad but i did a reality check, and i really don't have enough cash. so i went out of the store feeling a bit sad and then, tada! another thrift store! well, to torture myself more, i went inside and saw several bags -they were pretty but not vintage-y for me. i was about to leave the store when i saw several clutch bags parked on the counter. i asked the store person if those bags were for sale (they were separated from the rest, so i thought somebody bought them already) and viola! they were on sale! that's when i decided to take home this vintage green shouldber/clutch bag - sorry.

it was a beautiful afternoon, the sun was already hiding beneath the thick dark clouds but there were no signs of rain, so i decided to walk home. on my way home, i passed by house that has a sign "Garage Sale" hanging on its gate - ok, so i went inside and found this beautiful lamp!

i've been looking for the perfect bedside table lamp since i moved to my new unit. i found several lamps but they were too expensive or too plain. I was looking for a lamp that has a certain kind of personality - may it be eccentric or vintage. when i saw this lamp in the corner, i knew right there and then that this lamp was meant to be found by me :). and what's even more fascinating was, i was able to get it for 150 bucks! almost 1/5 of the cheapest lamp i saw in several department stores. but there is still a little challenge though - i need to find a bulb. the bulb is a night light - candelabra and its not very common anymore. but i know ill be able to find one and this lovely lamp will soon illuminate my room =)

beauty in trash

my meralco bill arrived today. it is 200 bucks more than last month. pretty depressing, for i thought electric consumption this month is lesser compared to last month.

ok, so i am officially broke! how am i gonna survive for the next 3 weeks? i have no idea. fortunately, i can't touch my microscopic savings, so its pretty safe.

oh well...to distract myself from the realities of being independent, i looked up some fashion trends i wanna see back in the runway. i was just randomly googling 19**'s fashion trends when i came into this:

the 1950's. so, that's how they used to look like...huge baloonish skirts and fitted tops with floral prints. it looks classic and elegant, sophisticated and prim.

i really have this thing for the oldies. my mom used to scold me so much because i won't let go of her old stuffs, even my grandmother's stuffs! she would usually give these to people who need them more - but these items carry with them history!

there was this one time when we went to Cubao Shoe Expo a.k.a Heaven, i wanted to purchase this vintage bag that i saw in a thirft store, but she said it was trash so she won't let me. the bag didn't look that old! oh well, i had no money then, so i wasn't able to do anything about it. now that i am earning on my own and can pretty much buy stuffs that i want (and end up being broke most of the time), i think i have every right to purchase the beautiful trash.

oversized and chained

this is random. totally not related to anything: you know what they say about letting go? aside from its too overrated, its the most difficult yet the most liberating act. it really is! well, i guess for people like me who actually find this a little challenging.

i really find it difficult to let go of something when i am so attached to it. i may not think about it for a while, but trust me, i'll dig into my pathetic memory and search for it again and again and again.

it's like being chained to something. you have the key, you can unchain yourself, but you just can't. it is supposed to be a deliberate effort, but you will come up with a lot of reasons to chain yourself more.

and oh! i found another oversized shirt. it's bigger than the plaid one i posted yesterday and its sleeves were intentionally ruffled and stitched so its pretty fancy. the fabric is very soft and i like how it feels on my skin.

and another fancy bag for you all - its a chained leather bag that is so huge! i love it! i am a fan of big bags. i like how my stuffs can easily fit and that i can put in more. and big bags have this appeal to me - they look classy and laid back.
